The sea and the beaches
Seaside hospitality has a long tradition in Pesaro, and has always preferred to concentrate on carefully-chosen high quality initiatives rather than catering for large numbers. Families and children are made especially welcome.
The structure of the territory here has a shallow sandy coastline enclosed to the north and south by the San Bartolo and Ardizio hills reaching down into the sea. Visitor facilities include both well-equipped bathing establishments, easily reached from the seaside hotels or the city centre, and delightful little bays surrounded by natural greenery.
Altogether there are 7 kilometres of beach including the equipped and free areas.
For many years Pesaro has been awarded the prestigious European blue flag, awarded to the places most virtuous in environmental terms and with the cleanest water.
