Red-meat fish
The Adriatic sea is rich in red-meat fish, known poetically in Italian as pesce azzurro, blue fish. Inexpensive, tasty, and good for your health, this type of fish makes an excellent alternative to the more highly-prized and expensive varieties.
In Pesaro, as in all the main fish markets on the Adriatic coast, you can eat fish every day of the week without spending huge sums of money.
The Municipality of Pesaro, in collaboration with the European Union, the Ministry for Economy and Finance, and the Region of Le Marche, has supported the Azzurro d’amare project expressly for promoting red-meat fish and its outstanding nutritional qualities. This type of fish is rich in mineral salts, unsaturated fats, liposoluble vitamins, proteins and sodium, and is suitable for all the family from babies to the elderly.
